Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfill this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge to Solve

Build and scale a global employee relations function that helps managers navigate complex people challenges while ensuring consistent, fair, and compliant practices across Slice.

The Role

As Slice's first dedicated Employee Relations Lead, you'll own employee relations across our global workforce and serve as the company's subject matter expert on investigations, performance management, policy interpretation, and complex employee matters. You'll partner closely with managers, People Business Partners, Legal, and Operations leaders to navigate workplace investigations, performance concerns, employee complaints, accommodations, and terminations. You'll also play a key role in building the processes, playbooks, and reporting that help us scale employee relations consistently across the business. This role has a strong US focus, including support for our warehouse population, while partnering with People Business Partners and managers across Canada, the UK, North Macedonia, and Kosovo to bring consistency to employee relations practices globally. While this role is remote, candidates must be able to work primarily East Coast business hours.

Key focus areas include:

  • Leading workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct, policy violations, grievances, and other employee concerns.
  • Coaching managers through performance management, performance improvement plans, terminations, and difficult employee situations.
  • Partnering with Legal and People Operations on workplace safety, accommodations, injury reporting, retaliation concerns, and other compliance-related matters.
  • Building employee relations processes, playbooks, templates, case management practices, and reporting.
  • Supporting handbook reviews, policy updates, and policy interpretation across multiple regions.
  • Partnering with People Business Partners and leaders to identify risks, improve manager capability, and strengthen employee experience.
  • Using employee relations data and trends to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Supporting restructuring and workforce change initiatives in partnership with People leadership and Legal.
The Team

The People team at Slice is high-performing and mission-driven. You will report to the VP, Global People Business Partnerships and partner closely with People Business Partners, Legal, and managers across the company.

The Winning Recipe
  • 4–6 years of employee relations, HR generalist, or related HR experience with significant employee relations exposure in a US environment.
  • Experience managing investigations involving harassment, discrimination, misconduct, workplace complaints, and policy violations.
  • Experience supporting hourly and non-exempt employee populations in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, retail, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of US employment law and sound judgment around when to escalate matters to legal counsel.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety and OSHA-related employee relations matters, including accommodations, injury reporting, and retaliation concerns.
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience creating investigation summaries, performance documentation, policies, and manager guidance.
  • Experience contributing to employee handbook reviews and policy development.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, coach, and support leaders through complex situations.
  • Comfortable operating independently, balancing competing priorities, and building processes in a growing organization.
  • Data-informed mindset with the ability to identify trends, surface risks, and recommend practical solutions.
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple countries or regions.
  • Familiarity with employment practices in Canada, the UK, or Europe.
  • Experience building or formalizing employee relations programs and processes.
