Reporting to the Manager, Business Sales, the Energy Marketing Associate plays a critical role in driving ATCO Energy’s growth across the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. Using a consultative approach, you’ll combine strategic sales and marketing expertise with deep market insight to deliver tailored energy solutions that create value for our customers and support ATCO Energy’s long‑term growth.
You’ll work closely with customers, internal partners, and leadership, bringing market intelligence, relationship expertise, and a forward‑thinking mindset to everything you do.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Marketing & Business Development

  • Design and execute marketing strategies to achieve assigned sales targets and growth objectives
    Identify emerging market trends and develop plans to capture new commercial opportunities
    Support pricing strategies and product positioning using market and competitive intelligence

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor and brand ambassador for ATCO Energy within the commercial and industrial sector.
  • Build and maintain long‑term client relationships that drive satisfaction, retention, and growth
  • Negotiate complex energy contracts and manage high‑value transactions within assigned territories and segments
  • Apply a consultative sales approach to understand client challenges and align solutions with business goals
  • Facilitate strategic conversations around cost management, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Proactively share market insights and updates to help clients manage their energy needs

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor Alberta’s energy market, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape
  • Prepare forecasts, performance reports, and executive‑level presentations
  • Analyze customer usage patterns and recommend tailored energy solutions

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, operations, and regulatory teams to deliver integrated customer solutions
  • Contribute insights to support product development and innovation
  • Act as a mentor and leader, supporting the growth and development of colleagues
  • Represent ATCO Energy at industry and customer events, as required

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in energy marketing, account management, or commercial sales
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta’s energy market, commodity pricing, and regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to develop strategic sales and marketing plans and manage high‑value accounts
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Alberta (~20%)
