Job Description

The Team:

The Data and Research Technology (DaRT) team is seeking an outstanding Cloud Engineer to support Cloud Solution Engineering teams in a major technology migration effort and support create and maintain cloud infrastructure.

The Cloud Solution Engineering team is seeking an outstanding Cloud Engineer to support our GenAI initiative, major technology migration efforts and maintain cloud infrastructure. This team is pivotal in governing cloud accounts bootstrapping and facilitating the DaRT team with cloud migration and infrastructure creation. Our goal is to be cloud-native, modernize our processes, and reduce cloud costs.

This role is critical as we build an in-house team to reduce dependency on external teams, making expertise in AWS and strong engineering skills essential. The Cloud Solution Engineer will work directly with technical leadership, product development teams, and cloud vendors, offering substantial opportunities for skills development and career growth.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable cloud solutions using Azure and AWS platforms, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code.

  • Configure and manage AWS / Azure environments for usage with web applications.

  • Experience of networks, security, load balancers, DNS and other infrastructure components and their application to cloud (AWS) environments.

  • Lead cloud migration and application modernization projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards and compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and facilitate between product teams and professional services to resolve blockers.

  • Automate and optimize CI/CD processes using DevOps practices and monitor cloud infrastructure for optimal performance.

  • Support efforts for process improvement through recognizing opportunities proactively or via problem resolution.

  • Conduct migration cost impact analysis and support architectural reviews, assisting with remediation to standards.

  • Passion for solving challenging issues.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in IT systems engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

  • Proficient in DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.

  • Must possess exceptional communication skills and relationship management.

Key Soft Skills Required:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Adaptability to rapidly changing environments.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TechOps and cloud infrastructure management.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Certification in Azure or AWS cloud services.

  • Experience in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.

  • Knowledge or experience with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies and applications.
