Role Responsibilities

  • Define and lead delivery of enterprise-wide solutions on behalf of our clients, managing teams of experienced architects, developers and technical consultants.
  • Partner with our clients to translate high level business and technology goals into roadmaps, technology architecture and operating models.
  • Present to senior or executive client audiences on content-rich topics, while also explaining industry challenges and complex content areas simply, developing understanding in others.
  • Support our clients in defining and delivering data, technology and resource strategy to meet their business goals.
  • Use your knowledge of the vendor and tool landscape, both within our client’s technology stacks and the broader market to support definition of the stack across technology and data.
  • Define and socialize architectural standards within Alpha and at our clients for your areas of expertise.
  • Input to project definition, resourcing and timelines and objectives within large scale or multiple projects.
  • Lead project team meetings and communicate effectively with internal and client peers, architects, system analysts, business analysts, project managers, quality control, and across other technology team boundaries, reporting project status as required.
  • Lead Alpha’s internal IP accelerator development, across multiple areas of expertise.
  • Take a lead in mentoring and coaching team members.

Role Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience in data analysis, engineering, or architecture roles, including cross-domain architectural alignment, enterprise integration patterns, and leadership of large transformation projects.
  • Experience conducting current-state assessments, producing gap analysis against enterprise architecture patterns and practices, producing target-state operating models, and developing interim-state and target-state **data architectures** to drive data strategy and transformation efforts.
  • Experience managing architectural vision against delivery goals, in alignment with business capability models; leading architecture workshops; managing decision logs; producing enterprise-level architectural diagrams and architecture artifacts (reference architectures, domain models, integration patterns); and delivering executive-level communications in the form of transformation roadmaps, sequencing plans, and dependency maps.
  • Experience conducting vendor and platform evaluations, assessing key operating model decisions such as build vs buy, in-source vs out-source, and performing architectural tradeoff analysis across competing solution options.
  • Hands-on expertise with Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, with preference for modern cloud-native solutions like Semarchy, Profisee, Reltio, Curioum, and CluedIn; experience with established enterprise platforms including GoldenSource, Eagle DM/PACE, and Gresham/S&P/Markit EDM is also valuable.
  • Strong data modeling experience, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling; experience with ERD tools like Erwin or ER/Studio is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience leading complex integration initiatives, ETL/ELT design (AWS Glue, Talend, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, dbt), API-driven integration (async/sync, webhook/callback, event-driven, bulk), event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub), and real-time data distribution in large business data environments.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric/Synapse; familiarity with modern data architecture patterns such as data mesh, data products, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Proficiency in data governance and metadata management, including stewardship models, business glossaries, lineage, and tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica EDC.
  • Strong grounding in data quality and lifecycle management, including profiling, monitoring, remediation workflows, and policy-driven controls.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and reliable data architectures, incorporating best practices in access control, encryption, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SEC, GDPR, SOC2).
  • Experience with data orchestration and transformation frameworks.
  • Experience in the Asset & Wealth Management industry, with familiarity of investment data domains, operational workflows, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Experience managing data engineering projects using Agile or other methodologies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, manage expectations, and operate effectively in ambiguous client environments.

Compensation & Perks

The anticipated base salary for this role varies based on geographic location and is structured across three compensation zones. These zones reflect local market conditions and cost of labor. Geographic placement is determined by the employee’s primary work location.

Zone A | $196,000 – $239,400

Applies to candidates working in designated high-cost metropolitan areas, including: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; and Washington, DC, as well as remote roles based in Massachusetts or the New York Tri-State Area.

Zone B | $178,000 – $216,600

Applies to candidates working in key metropolitan markets, including: Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA, as well as remote roles based in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, or Colorado.

Zone C | $168,500 – $207,100

Applies to all other U.S. locations not listed above.
Toronto | CAD 216,500 - CAD 299,250

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. We are committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices across all locations.
