The Opportunity
Our Contamination Management & Environment Operations team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary, AB to support the organization.
TC Energy is seeking an Environmental Advisor who has the knowledge and expertise to provide contamination management support to the company’s Canada Gas business unit. The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Contaminated Sites Program and Waste Management Program. The scope of support includes operations, integrity projects, and capital projects. This individual will have the proven skills and competencies to ensure that contamination management activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and in conformance with company policies and procedures.
The Environmental Advisor will support the management of environmental issues related to contamination and waste by providing technical expertise and solutions to internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do

Manage TC Energy’s contaminated sites risk assessment and monitoring framework, collaborating with peers to ensure contamination risks are properly identified, mitigated, and communicated to management

Support the execution of the team’s strategy which includes a site-specific risk evaluation protocol for contaminated sites

Provide internal technical expertise by triaging contamination and waste-related inquiries and providing solutions to minimize environmental risk and maintain regulatory compliance

Support the ongoing maintenance of TC Energy’s records repositories for environmental reports and analytical data, collecting and uploading historical and new site-specific records
-
Coordinate waste management documentation to support compliance with federal and provincial legislation and accurate internal tracking

Compile and complete annual waste disposal tracking to meet ESG reporting requirements

Support the review of new or updated remediation and waste legislation and guidance, communicating changes to affected internal stakeholders

Support the development and maintenance of program procedures and work aids

Support program enhancements including consistency improvements and innovation related to remediation methodologies and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
-
University degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or similar field of study
-
3-5 years of environmental/industry work experience
-
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
-
Excellent collaboration skills that promote a positive influence on the work of others through demonstration of effective interpersonal communication
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with federal and provincial environmental regulatory agencies (e.g., Canada Energy Regulator, provincial authorities)

Familiarity with federal and provincial legislation specific to contaminated sites and waste management
-
Relevant professional designation or certification.

Maintain a valid driver's license and submit a driver's abstract for review

Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training (estimated up to 5% of work schedule)
