Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate sciences or engineering program with an environmental, geoscience or policy focus

  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term

  • Please attach your most recent transcripts with your application

Responsibilities:

  • Support various reclamation and closure projects, including literature search and reviews, coordination of people/ resources, enabling progress on annual program commitments and requirements

  • Enter, manage, analyze, and compile different types of wildlife, environment and regulatory data

  • Assist in producing standardized environmental reports (GHG and energy) that analyze historical and forecasted data

  • Update and assist in the creation of presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and flowcharts

  • Monitor and assess emerging environmental policies and regulations

  • Fort McMurray based roles may prepare samples for lab analysis, and co-ordinate field logistics, such as sample collection, shipping, equipment servicing, and materials supplies

Location & Other Key Details:

  • This is an 8, 12, or 16-month term commitment beginning in May 2025

  • Potential locations for these student roles include Calgary, St. John's, and Fort McMurray (Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo). You will be asked to indicate your availability in your application

  • Relocation support will be provided if required

  • Students who live and work in Fort McMurray are eligible for a cash allowance to address the cost of living and the remote nature of the region
