About the role

Notre équipe d’indemnisation est à la recherche d’un(e) expert  en défaillance de matériaux et chimie pour notre équipe grandissante.

Lieu de travail – Ville St- Laurent

Formule de travail hybride qui implique des déplacements occasionnels

Ce que vous accomplirez chez nous :

  • Assister l’équipe des sinistres afin d’orienter rapidement et efficacement la suite du règlement lors de réclamations liées à la défaillance des équipements, de produits et des contaminations chimiques.
  • Compléter des mandats pour nos experts internes comme externes et travailler en collaboration avec nos évaluateurs bâtiments;
  • Caractérisations des matériaux et application des principes de fractographie.
  • Par un processus d’enquête et de recherche scientifique, vous aurez à comprendre et identifier l’élément causal de la défaillance tout en éliminant les autres causes possibles.
  • Vous aurez ainsi à recréer la séquence des événements qui a mené au sinistre et valider ces étapes avec les connaissances scientifiques à jour. En validant les hypothèses et testant les scénarios à étude, vous aurez à appliquer la méthode scientifique à l’identification des causes de sinistres.
  • Déplacement sur les lieux d’un sinistre afin de documenter les lieux et effectuer un prélèvement des échantillons pertinent.
  • Rencontrer les assurés et bien comprendre les circonstances entourant leur réclamation.
  • Gestion des échantillons et tâches connexes en laboratoire.
  • Documenter les lieux et émettre votre opinion quant à la cause probable des dommages.
  • Consigner votre opinion par écrit et intervenir pour contribuer à la résolution de conflits en cours de réclamation en apportant votre expertise technique.
  • Collaboration avec des collègues au Québec et à travers le Canada.
  • Vous pourrez également appeler à témoigner à la cour afin de partager votre opinion d’expert.

Ce que vous mettrez à profit :

  • Baccalauréat en génie chimique, matériaux ou chimie.
  • Minimum de cinq ans d’expérience pertinente en défaillance ou en caractérisation des matériaux.
  • Connaissance des différents outils de caractérisation des matériaux (microscopie électronique et optique, spectroscopie infrarouge).
  • Compréhension fondamentale des mécanismes de corrosion.
  • Expérience dans le domaine de l’assurance et en tant qu’expert devant les tribunaux sera considérée un atout important.
  • Membre en règle d’un ordre professionnel relié au domaine spécifique pertinent.
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais). Nécessité d’interagir sur une base régulière avec des collègues et des clients partout au pays.
  • Excellentes aptitudes de communication et de vulgarisations des concepts techniques, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
  • Capacité d’innovation et d’adaptation.
  • Capacité à collaborer avec l’équipe ou bien travailler seul pour atteindre les objectifs.
