We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Field Sales Representative to grow our business relationships for Novanta's Precision Manufacturing solutions in Photonics.  The Field Sales Representative position is responsible for new account penetration and sales growth in an assigned territory. In this role, you will build professional sales relationships with assigned customers in all channels of distribution. You will utilize a consultative selling style that operates independently on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed projected sales goals based on territory quota established by sales management for the given territory.
  • Use a disciplined approach to selling to uncover and meet customer needs.
  • Maintain territory call cycle on new accounts.
  • Utilize thorough probing style to understand customer’s business, assess needs and profile the account.
  • Responsible for formulating and executing an effective call cycle plan to grow territory business; Sales Representative will prepare account business plans with their Regional Director.
  • Develop new business within geographic territory.
  • Maintain technical proficiency with Novanta products and competitive products.
  • Use of Microsoft Office suite of tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advance skills through training and daily use.
  • Daily use of CRM tool (Salesforce) and AI to analyze product, account sales and overall territory growth.
  • Participate in state and regional optical shows when requested.
  • Maintain administrative processes on a timely basis (call reports, expense reports, ROI reports, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Required Education

  • Technical degree preferably PhD degree in Physics, preferable photonics / optics.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in B2B sales in the engineered product space.
  • Experience working with OEMs to formulate custom solutions for their needs.
  • Experience leveraging sales data to influence internal stakeholders around customer needs including product management, engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills.

Compensation

The annual compensation range for this job is USD $132,550 to $212,080. This amount includes both a base compensation and sales incentive compensation.
