About us

We are a technology consulting firm providing high-impact data and automation solutions in healthcare, fintech, and insurance. Our clients range from startups to well-established enterprises, including notable brands like Coinbase and GreenShield. You will join a team of over 50 members distributed across Canada, working in a remote-first environment. Our clients choose us because we practice extreme ownership and deliver solutions that truly work. We move quickly, think deeply, and take pride in our partnerships.

About the role

Boosted Technology is looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations and help us better manage the commercial and financial side of our business as we grow.

This is a hands-on role that covers everything from supporting client contracting, invoicing, expense management, accounts receivable, financial forecasting and SRED.

We're looking for someone who is energized to go into the details, but who can also step back and understand what the numbers are telling us. Someone who can spot problems early, ask good questions and help us make better financial decisions.

You'll work closely with Operations, RevOps and Delivery and our external accounting partners, helping ensure the financial processes that support the business and client relationships run smoothly.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including P&L analysis, actuals versus forecasts and explanations of significant variances.
  • Manage client invoicing, ensuring invoices are accurate, issued on time and aligned with contracts, statements of work and purchase orders.
  • Own accounts receivable, including tracking outstanding invoices, following up on payments, resolving discrepancies and escalating overdue accounts when needed.
  • Work closely with Sales to stay on top of client billing arrangements, contract changes and any issues that could delay invoicing or payment.
  • Own financial forecasting in partnership with the leadership group across revenue, costs, margins and cash flow, keeping forecasts accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor software and AI-related spending, understand how costs are changing and help assess their impact on productivity and company sustainability.
  • Manage our USD and CAD balances, monitor foreign exchange exposure and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary conversion costs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for our external accounting partner resolving questions and making sure outstanding items are followed through.
  • Coordinate our annual SR&ED process, working with engineers and external advisors to identify eligible work, gather documentation and keep submissions on track
How You'll Work

A big part of your role will be making sure nothing falls through the cracks between a signed client agreement, an issued invoice and a received payment. You'll stay close to what's happening across our client accounts, follow up proactively and help resolve issues before they become bigger problems.

You'll also work with leadership to understand our financial performance, investigate discrepancies, challenge assumptions and turn financial data into information that helps us make better decisions.

You'll have the opportunity to improve how we work, whether that's introducing better financial controls, simplifying reporting, automating manual processes or making information easier to access and understand.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in a hands-on finance, financial analyst or accounting role, ideally within a technology, consulting or professional services business.
  • Experience supporting client-facing financial processes, including contracts, invoicing, accounts receivable and payment follow-ups.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L reporting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Confidence working with financial data, spreadsheets and accounting systems.
  • Experience analyzing costs, margins and profitability, with an ability to identify meaningful trends and risks.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to keep multiple processes moving without constant oversight.
  • Confidence communicating with clients, internal teams and external partners to resolve questions and keep things on track.
  • A keen interest in using technology, automation and AI to make financial work more efficient.
  • Good judgement, curiosity and a high degree of ownership.
  • Experience with Canadian SR&ED claims, foreign exchange management or working with outsourced accounting firms would be useful, but isn't essential.
