Job Description
Overview:
The Financial Analyst Intern (Alberta) supports the Alberta Homes team by delivering high-quality financial analysis and market research to inform strategic, investment, and development decisions. This role contributes to the preparation of financial models, dashboards, reporting packages, and executive presentations, along with ad hoc analysis as required.
The position is primarily focused on Homes & Communities financial analysis , with a secondary focus on market research and insights
Key Deliverables:
Conducting market research through site visits to new home sales centres, MLS analysis, consumer data review, and primary research
Compiling macro-economic, housing, and demographic data; maintaining and updating internal data warehouses
Preparing market data and insights for quarterly market updates, project approvals, stage-gate reviews, executive presentations, and land supply studies
Developing and maintaining dashboards and recurring market reports
Supporting quarterly partnership reporting with relevant market data
Identifying new third-party research sources and integrating updated datasets into internal reporting tools
Assisting with financial models and analysis for stage-gate approvals
Supporting the evaluation of housing and community development acquisitions
Performing financial analysis across products, segments, and builder strategies
Preparing financial materials to support investment, planning, and strategic decision-making
What You'll Bring:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a related field (e.g., Real Estate, Construction Management, Business, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
A keen interest in real estate and development.
Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a strong team player.
A positive and can-do attitude.
Ability to work 40 hours per week Monday – Friday in office.
Experience creating and utilizing financial models
