Our Operations team in Calgary is looking for a Financial Operations Analyst who is passionate about enhancing process reliability and efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate across teams to drive improvements and ensure operational excellence. We encourage candidates with a strong skill set in process optimization and execution to apply.
This position is based in our Calgary office, offering a flexible work arrangement with a requirement to be in the office at least 50% of the time.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with various Benevity teams to enhance process reliability and foster interdepartmental cooperation
- Lead significant cross-functional projects to create and implement scalable, reliable protocols and processes
- Engage regularly with clients to understand their needs and refine processes, minimizing error risks
- Review current financial processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency using no/low-code solutions like VBA and ETLs
- Work closely with stakeholders, including finance and IT teams, to gather requirements and develop functional specifications
- Create comprehensive process documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures to streamline financial operations
- Develop and enforce controls to comply with regulatory standards and internal guidelines
- Perform rigorous testing of financial systems and processes to preemptively solve issues and enhance security
- Track key performance indicators to evaluate process effectiveness and promote ongoing enhancement
- Train and support finance teams in adopting new processes and technologies
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required with 2-3 years of experience
- Results-driven, resourceful, and proactive approach
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and various internal stakeholder levels, communicating goals, requirements, and solutions clearly
- Experienced in linking business challenges to sophisticated technical solutions
- Committed to client success and operational excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical and adept at managing multiple issues to resolution
- Capable of working independently with sound judgment
- Resilient and adaptable, excels in a dynamic, multi-tasking startup environment, and skilled at adjusting priorities swiftly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Team player with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor
