The Front End Lead oversees the daily operations of a retail store department, providing supervision, leadership, and training to team members. Responsibilities include customer service, task delegation, adherence to standard procedures, and maintaining visual merchandise presentation. The role requires decision-making and problem-solving skills to enhance customer experience.
Summary:
Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day to day operation of a retail store department.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager
- Delegate tasks and work assignment to team members by giving clear and concise direction, and follow up to ensure proper execution
- Foster the growth and development of team members by training various standard operating procedures and processes
- Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, following up to provide correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager
- Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department
- Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based off this analysis
- Promote company programs to team members and customers
- Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, merchandise recovering/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed
- Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope
- Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment is preferred
- Open availability – this position will be required to work store opening and closing shifts, as well as on weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Ability to evaluate customers’ needs and make recommendations based on needs
- Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer’s expectations
- Ability to use good judgment and logic
- Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle
- Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s specific products is an asset
