Who we areAbout Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Onboarding team's mission is to make it fast and easy for large users to get enabled and stay enabled on Stripe.

What you’ll do

You’ll build full stack features that make it fast and easy for Stripe users to create their accounts, get their accounts approved to process live mode payments, and keep their accounts enabled over time as requirements change.

This role in particular will focus on building onboarding flows that target high-priority markets in East Asia. It’s important that our onboarding flows are well suited to local regulations and user experience expectations, and you’ll be one of a small team of critical engineers doing that work.

Responsibilities

  • Build delightful features in Stripe’s onboarding flows for users in East Asia. You’ll build some on top of existing work, and others you’ll build from the ground up.
  • Own execution of those features end to end, and get deep into the details of product, policy, and design.
  • Work closely with product and policy teams based in Singapore.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • Fluency in Mandarin, especially in a business environment
  • Experience as either the lead engineer on 3-month projects, or a key contributor on larger projects. This should include backend and frontend work.
  • Deep product-oriented mindset with a track record of polished, user-centric features and interfaces.
  • An unusual level of dedication to the user experience
  • Located in the North American Pacific time zone

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with East Asian fintech, SaaS, or consumer apps

What you need to know about the Calgary Tech Scene

Employees can spend up to one-third of their life at work, so choosing the right company is crucial, not just for the job itself but for the company culture as well. While startups often offer dynamic culture and growth opportunities, large corporations provide benefits like career development and networking, especially appealing to recent graduates. Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
