Seeking a Level 3 GCP Network Architect to design and implement cloud network architectures, lead migrations, and mentor teams while analyzing technical solutions.
Shared Services Canada (SSC) is seeking a Level 3 GCP Network Architect to support the Cloud Hosting Branch. The ideal candidate has extensive GCP experience, strong networking expertise, cloud development and architecture skills, and Kubernetes experience.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
- University degree in a related business or technology discipline, or a two-year college diploma in a related discipline; OR
- University degree in any field with 5+ years of IT experience in a related business or technology discipline; OR
- 10+ years of IT work experience in the last 15 years
- Degrees obtained outside Canada must have recognized Canadian credential assessment (per CICIC guidelines)
Level 3 Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of IT experience
- Responsibilities may include:
- Developing technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies for an organization or major application area
- Identifying policies and requirements to drive solutions
- Analyzing and evaluating alternative technology solutions to meet business needs
- Ensuring integration of all aspects of technology solutions
- Monitoring industry trends to align with government and industry directions
- Providing guidance and support for emerging technologies
- Performing impact analysis of technology changes
- Supporting applications/technical teams in the proper use of infrastructure
- Reviewing application/program/technical infrastructure design for standards adherence and performance improvements
- Specialties could include: Hardware, Host System Software, Software, Storage, Network
Other Mandatory Experience:
- Leading migrations to Google Cloud in the last 7 years
- Coaching and leading DevOps cloud teams with PM/Scrum support in the last 8 years
- Designing, configuring, and deploying cloud platforms based on roadmaps and blueprints in the last 5 years
- Identifying, researching, and resolving complex cloud implementation problems in the last 5 years
- Possession of certifications such as:
- Google Cloud Professional Network Engineer
- CNCF Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize GCP network architectures for SSC
- Lead cloud migrations and transformation initiatives
- Coach and mentor DevOps teams and architects
- Collaborate with PMs, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders
- Identify and resolve complex cloud and network issues
- Provide architecture guidance across hardware, host system software, software, storage, and network
