Atimi is seeking an experienced backend GenAI Software Developer to fill a position in Canada. Please note this is a fully remote position with EST working hours but we're open to candidates from all provinces. Atimi works with some of the leading companies in North America, providing them with high-quality software solutions that integrate both mobile and web experience. Responsibilities
- AI System Architecture & Development: Design and implement advanced AI reasoning engines
- Platform Infrastructure: Build robust, scalable automation GenAI architecture
- Research & Innovation: Architect machine learning models and perform workflow optimization
- Microservices Development: Design new and customize existing microservices
- Technical Experience & Education: 5+ years of backend software development experience
- AWS Development Experience: Practical experience with AWS systems, including but not limited to Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, RDS, Bedrock
- AI/ML & Architecture Expertise: Strong AL/ML systems focus, deep expertise in Python and Java development, AI/ML frameworks, LangChain, LangGraph, Bedrock, Bedrock Knowledge Base, API design across multiple protocols, distributed systems architecture, and schema design with database persistence
- Collaboration & Communication: Experience working on strategic technical initiatives with multiple engineers, strong ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
- Engineering Excellence: Demonstrates excellent technical judgment in AI system design, balances rapid prototyping with production-ready solutions, takes end-to-end ownership of AI solution delivery, and maintains commitment to AI/ML engineering best practices
The position is open to anyone, but you must be located in Canada. Relocation support is not provided.

About The Interview ProcessThe interview process for this position involves multiple stages that cover:
- Communication and soft-skills skills evaluation
- Technical evaluation of general software development principles
- Practical evaluation (live coding exercise) in Python
- Practical evaluation (live coding exercise) in Java
- Cultural fit with other team members
The salary for this position is based on the Atimi Salary Grid, ranges between 101k and 158k per annum and depends on the individual's experience and performance during the interview
