The General Manager (Canada) is responsible for leading and managing all activities for projects at FANUC Canada Ltd., either directly or through direct reports, for the day-to-day activities of the FANUC Canada subsidiary offices within the FANUC America Corporation (FAC) global strategy.  You will also provide employee/group leadership, management, and expertise to the team ensuring the highest level of employee engagement and customer satisfaction while meeting financial objectives.

You need to be a conceptual thinker with proven experience effectively leading, developing, and motivating teams made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.  You'll be managing and maintaining financial targets to ensure the budgets in operating expense, revenue, and profit are met and/or exceeded.  This role may include extensive travel to both client and FANUC Canada Ltd./FAC locations in addition to occasional extended hours of operation.

Primary responsibilities will include

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for FANUC Canada Ltd., ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and achievement of annual financial, customer, operational, and innovation KPIs
  • Manage all aspects of Canadian operations, including sales, proposal engineering, project execution, service, administration, and resource scheduling
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational programs to drive growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all departments
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing team, fostering employee engagement, career development, and alignment with company goals
  • Oversee human resources functions, including performance planning, evaluations, training, succession planning, and compliance with local employment laws in coordination with FANUC America HR and legal teams
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, distribution partners, and integrators to support business development and customer satisfaction
  • Direct customer management activities, including contract administration, scope negotiation, project kick-offs, and resolution of scope changes
  • Ensure excellence in engineering and project execution, including performance tracking, close-outs, and implementation of lessons learned
  • Collaborate with FANUC America Corporation (FAC) and FANUC Canada Ltd. to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with global strategies
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting (sales, robot orders, profitability), cost control, and cash flow management
  • Support business development and proposal activities, including pre-sale strategy, proposal approval, and presentation
  • Drive customer and employee satisfaction, ensuring continuous improvement initiatives are implemented and aligned with organizational goals
  • Identify and resolve challenges proactively, ensuring timely decision-making and operational excellence

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; or equivalent, relevant experience
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in industries of comparable scale and complexity to advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, or robotics
  • 5+ years of experience leading or collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning engineering, execution, planning, marketing, and sales
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and executing multiple projects concurrently
  • Extensive experience directing cross-functional leadership teams across multiple disciplines, geographic regions, and areas of technical and commercial expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of senior executive leadership experience, including C-suite roles (e.g., CEO, COO, CTO), within complex industrial or technology-driven sectors
