This role aims to enhance reservoir exploitation and optimize well performance. The Geophysicist will collaborate closely with a diverse team of geologists, reservoir engineers, and development engineers.
Essential Functions:
Planning of 3D and 4D seismic programs for Cold Lake assets. Develop 4D data acquisition plans to monitor steam chamber growth and sweep efficiency and to support existing performance and improve future development decisions in Cold Lake.
Oversee the processing and reprocessing of seismic datasets. QC stacks, gathers and other processing outputs.
Geophysics analysis of 4D/RST/Pressure data for redevelopment and base performance assessments and decision making for the Lower Drainage Well (LDW) program, well troubleshooting, late life planning, etc.
Time lapse inversions to generate 4D outputs for interpretation to support reservoir and overburden understanding.
Reservoir monitoring (reservoir and caprock) through interpretation of timelapse seismic data in combination with temperature and RST information from vertical observation wells.
Assess coalescence in and between pads and variability within field.
Ensure knowledge and learnings are shared for future pad considerations.
Use geophysics and 3D/4D seismic to aid in operations, geosteering and planning of new SAGD/infills, redrills and stratigraphic wells.
Support all pad reviews.
