We are seeking a junior and intermediate Geoscientist to join our In Situ Geoscience team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in geology and experience with In Situ development. The candidates will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive exploration, appraisal, and resource development and monitoring strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field
- Professional membership with APEGA (P. Geo) or eligibility for registration
- Minimum 4 years of experience in geoscience, with preference for candidates with In Situ expertise
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work based on impact
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing collaboration and integration
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while contributing to strategic decision-making
- Intermediate role should demonstrate leadership and project management abilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Support In Situ pre-development and asset projects through geologic interpretation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geoscience data with geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering datasets for exploration, appraisal, and delineation
- Conduct geologic interpretation of well and seismic data to support geomodel development
- Perform resource evaluation and analogue studies to identify and assess future growth opportunities
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to geoscience development through formal and informal mentoring and coaching
- Influence team business planning by integrating geoscience insights with broader business and technical information
Location & other key details
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
