The Role

We are seeking a highly creative and strategic Senior Manager of Brand Design to lead and expand our design function across all business lines. This role is crucial in evolving Carbon Direct’s brand identity and presence as we scale, ensuring that our materials maintain a cohesive and compelling visual language.  The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in visual and brand design, an ability to drive user-centered solutions, and a strong leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Lead the development and execution of Carbon Direct’s visual identity across marketing materials and brand assets, working collaboratively across teams.
  • Brand Development: Establish and maintain a cohesive brand design system across marketing channels that reflects Carbon Direct’s mission and vision, ensuring that brand guidelines are appropriately adapted and implemented.
  • Marketing & Communications Design: Partner with other marketing team members to develop creative campaigns, presentations, and content that effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Website Design & Management: Oversee the design and optimization of Carbon Direct’s website to enhance user engagement and brand presence.
  • Team Building & Management: Mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to align design strategy with business goals.
  • User-Centered Approach: Champion audience research and data-driven design decisions to enhance user engagement on the company website and support the customer journey.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep Carbon Direct at the forefront of design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in brand and marketing design, with several years in a creative leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand, product, and marketing design.
  • Proven experience leading design teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep understanding of marketing-focused principles and best practices. 
  • Strong proficiency in design and website tools (Figma, Framer, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Experience working in climate, sustainability, or tech-driven industries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance creative vision with business objectives.

Salary Range

$161,000-$197,000 a year
