Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
Square services millions of diverse merchants across four primary audiences. The Dashboard is the core product experience for sellers to start, run and grow their business. Dashboard is a product that sellers use every day and is the way sellers interact with every product at Square. This job will require excellent cross-functional collaboration, data-driven insights, and product intuition to meet the needs of the diverse seller base. You'll be responsible for delivering transformative value to merchants of all sizes and industries. This is a unique opportunity to lead the strategy and vision for a critical platform that shapes how merchants interact with Square every day.
We are seeking a leader with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of merchant needs to redefine what the Dashboard can achieve. As the Head of Product for Dashboard, you will be responsible for shaping its strategy across multiple horizons, integrating AI-driven insights, and ensuring that it continues to serve as the foundation for merchant success.
You Will

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive product strategy across near, mid, and long-term horizons to position the Dashboard for sustainable growth.
  • Champion an AI-first approach to reimagine the Dashboard experience, integrating cutting-edge technologies to deliver actionable insights and personalized merchant experiences.
  • Own and drive the performance of the Dashboard product, including key business metrics such as performance, engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Own and drive the design systems, components and patterns that are used across Square Dashboard, including the migration to a modern and accessible design system.
  • Establish and manage strategic priorities, ensuring the Dashboard remains indispensable to merchants across all audiences.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, analytics, and other product teams to execute on the product vision.
  • Deeply understand merchant needs across diverse industries and translate insights into innovative solutions.
  • Ability to influence and indirectly drive delivery on surface areas outside of your direct scope.
  • Manage a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You Have

  • 12+ years of product management experience, with at least 5+ years leading and scaling a product team.
  • Proven success in developing product strategies and driving organizational alignment around them.
  • Strong background in managing the business performance of a product line or business.
  • Exceptional design and product sensibilities, with a passion for delivering intuitive and impactful user experiences.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-informed decisions and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clarity and alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale product initiatives in complex environments.

Location:

  • US-based, ideally PST timezone. Remote acceptable
