What you will do:
Strategic Leadership & Execution:
• Drive the implementation and global delivery of the technical strategy and roadmap in alignment with the global Ericsson On-Demand and Core Network Services vision specifically focusing on the public cloud and as-a-Service model for the sub-services under the responsibility of the engineering head.
• In collaboration with Technology Evolution, drive the architecture and technical direction for all sub-services, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency at hyperscaler.
• Lead the adoption of modern engineering practices, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), site reliability engineering (SRE), and cloud-native development methodologies across the relevant sub-services and collaboratively with the European engineering head to ensure an aligned approach.
Organizational Management & Development:
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Engineers, providing guidance on career development, technical challenges, and team dynamics.
• Oversee talent acquisition, retention, and performance management for personnel.
• Foster an inclusive, innovative, and results-oriented engineering culture that emphasizes accountability and cross-functional collaboration.
• Identify and build the required competencies in the North engineering team to meet the evolving business and technology challenges.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to define the engineering ways of working and deliverables in accordance with the business, technology, security and compliance requirements and ensure alignment to those processes and ways of working.
• Build a predictable, scalable and sustainable engineering organization that is able to deliver consistent business value to the market.
Operational Excellence & Delivery:
• Ensure the successful, timely, and high-quality delivery (including functional, non-functional and security/compliance) of all relevant sub-services, from initial incubation/trials to commercial deployments to scaling up to support a growing customer base.
• Provide sub-services expertise through the SRE Prime roles in your team towards the SRE organization, enabling close collaboration and blameless culture of inter-working and DevOps culture
• Manage the resource allocation of the engineering team to maximize efficiency and impact. Show adaptability and flexibility to support the evolving business needs.
• Establish and monitor metrics for engineering productivity, quality, and operational health.
The skills you bring:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple engineers.
• Proven track record of building and scaling cloud-native, telecommunication, or distributed systems at a global scale.
• Deep expertise in public cloud infrastructure, as-a-Service models, and DevOps principles.
• Strong understanding of of API driven as-a-Service Control Plane and Core Network Test Framework technologies
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and as-a-Service business models

The salary range for this position is
• Ottawa: $174,000 - $ 228,375 CAD
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%.
