As a fast-growing B2B industrial manufacturing company, we are looking for a Human Resources Generalist based out of our global headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. As a corporate Human Resources Generalist, you are responsible for managing a variety of human resources functions to support employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and the company’s strategic goals. This role involves all aspects of the employee life-cycle including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The HR Generalist acts as a key resource for both employees and management, promoting a positive and productive workplace culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Talent Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programs for employees.
  • Support continuous learning and skill development across teams.
  • Supports the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and practices.
  • Coach and guide leaders as they develop members of their team.

Performance Management

  • Support managers in the performance review process, providing guidance on best practices in alignment with talent philosophy.
  • Facilitate goal-setting and career development discussions.
  • Work with employees and managers to develop performance improvement plans when necessary.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a resource to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Conduct investigations and review investigation outcomes and corrective action information to understand trends and proactively identify training and solutions.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns and issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture through ongoing activities such as stay interviews, exit interviews, surveys, focus groups, and employee lunch and learns.

Support for Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and recruiting plans.
  • In partnership with the Talent Acquisition team, screen, interview, and recommend candidates for select open positions.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and training sessions as required.
  • Educate and coach managers in interviewing techniques and making selection decisions.
  • Guide leaders as they onboard new employees including paperwork, and training.

Serve as an escalation point for employee questions about a wide variety of topics including compliance, workplace policies, compensation and benefits, performance, development, and workplace interactions.

Prepare and analyze HR data for the purpose of sharing with leaders, identifying trends, and actively solutioning for improved business results.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Certification in HR (PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
