Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the HR strategy execution in partnership with the Global HR Leader. The Human Resources Manager works to foster positive relationships and provides excellent customer service, implements best practices, ensures compliance, and works to create a culture that aligns with the Nidec Way.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Recruit new employees beginning with an initial job requisition, seeing the entire process through to the new hire orientation to result in a recruiting process that is non-discriminatory, well organized, targeted to the correct talent pools of potential employees, and attracts top talent to meet company objectives.

  • Work with managers to create and update job descriptions
  • Partner with Corporate Recruiting as appropriate to manage job openings and applicant flow
  • Review candidates with hiring managers and advise on any potential hiring concerns and recommended results.
  • Work with hiring manager and any other interviewers to schedule interviews, background checks and any appropriate testing.
  • Manage offer letter process, working with the Corporate Recruiters as appropriate. Coordinate any special issues including relocation and immigration concerns.
  • Manager new hire onboarding, stay interviews and exit interviews with outgoing employees

Performance Management

  • Partner with Managers and Supervisors to drive the implementation of performance management across the business including creation of performance improvement plans
  • Guide managers on performance coaching

Employee Relations

  • Proactively work to create a culture that follows the Nidec Way and makes employees feel engaged and motivated
  • Organize recognition programs and events

Compensation and Benefits

  • Manage the annual merit, promotion and equity adjustments cycles
  • Work with managers on promotions, job changes and compensation reviews

Legal Compliance

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Manages and maintains organization and employee data with strictest confidentiality

Training & Development (incl Occupational Health and Safety Assurance)

  • Review training needs for Automation employees and recommend training solutions
  • Manage the training delivery through in house trainers and/or service providers

HRIS Management

  • Ensure data integrity in Workday
  • Lead Workday annual processes, including performance reviews, merit increases, goal setting and open enrollment following Shared Services guidelines

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the field with increasing responsibility
  • 3+ years of experience in full cycle recruiting
  • Experience with compensation is preferred
  • Experience using an HRIS system, Workday is preferred
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects on a continuous basis with frequent interruptions and be able to manage time effectively
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable presenting to groups
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to hold high levels of confidentiality and use discretion in all communications
  • Must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Requires strong understanding of US HR regulations.
