Job Description· Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
· Develop and maintain liaison with the wider Transit & Rail Systems Team, other business units and individuals within the organization as well as with client’s engineering, assurance, and project teams.
· Apply the principles of Systems Engineering processes throughout the project’s lifecycle.
· Identify, define and manage interface requirements and associated process on the project.
· Develop and implement Interface Management plans and processes and ensure that project teams operate in accordance with those plans and processes.
· Develop, implement, and coordinate Interface Management tools on projects
· Takes responsibility for managing and producing interface matrices, interface control documents, interface registers etc.
· Conduct and collaborate in gap analyses to ensure the solution that is presented covers the requirement and that the appropriate information is interchanged between parties as well as follows up the interfaces until its agreement.
· Work in a collaborative environment among many other technical disciplines, stakeholders and third parties
· Communicates in an effective way and for diverse audiences
· Managing interface working groups, record documents, update status and evidence.
· Work on or provide specific input to systems engineering management tools such as DOORS or ComplyPro.
· Review third party interface points and develop interface control documents and responsibility matrices.
· Manage external interface and integration requirements and ensure compatibility at system level.
· Provide input to the Hazard Log, Safety Log, Risk Register and maintain and manage resolution and mitigation of high-risk interface issues.
· Support, Systems Engineering Manager in relevant technical discussions and decisions.
· Perform impact analysis for proposed changes to interface agreements and support the Configuration Management and Change Control throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline +6 years of experience in Systems Engineering OR Technical Diploma + 8 years of experience in Systems Engineering
o 5+ years experience with Systems Engineering Tools such as IBM DOORS.
o 5+ years experience with projects and their design lifecycles
o
o Residing or willing to travel to Alberta
Preferred Qualifications:
o Used to implement and work under the principles of following standards: IEEE 1220, ISO 15288 + 24748 + 29148: Systems Engineering Life Cycle processes & Requirements management.
o INCOSE certified
o 10 years’ experience is ideal in Systems Engineering
o Working towards PEng or eligible for PEng
