Are you an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer looking for an opportunity to contribute to an impactful product in a collaborative environment? We’re looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer to join The Leap by Thinkific.

As an Intermediate Full Stack Engineer, you will work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to help translate business requirements and specifications into delivered features. You’ll work across the application stack to ensure business milestones are met while also investigating, assessing, and fixing bugs within the platform. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you’ll stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software on a team that follows the best practices for quality software development and testing methodologies.

Your goal will be to help shape a product that has a top-line impact on our company goals. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Lead small-medium feature projects from conception to completion, working with stakeholders to identify project risks and recommend mitigating solutions
  • Participate in scoping discussions with stakeholders to determine timelines for features and tasks
  • Contribute to architecture decisions to build features at scale
  • Contribute to effectively diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with the product
  • Participate in architectural design, review, and implementation of production-quality features

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 3+ years of experience working in a Full Stack development role, and at least 1+ years of experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Demonstrates a practical understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs – ideally by having designed, implemented, and consumed them
  • Showcases working experience with NodeJS, Typescript/Javascript, Ruby on Rails applications
  • Has experience with unit/integration tests, TDD is a plus
  • Be comfortable using Git and related tools like GitHub, GitLab, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable in relational databases, SQL and engines like PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Is highly adaptable and resourceful, opting for pragmatic solutions to problems and knowing that things can shift quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Has experience with cloud hosting (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Showcases working experience building single-page applications, preferably using React and Typescript

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $102,000 - $127,000 CAD.

We believe in equal opportunity and are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across every facet of our business.

We’re also committed to providing a comfortable and accessible interview experience for every candidate. If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process (big or small), please let us know.
