The Opportunity

Our Internal Audit team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary, AB. 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit and Investigations, The IT Auditor will be responsible for planning and conducting IT audits of TC Energy and subsidiary company operations; conducting independent, objective reviews of company activities; and providing data analysis and client-focused value-added recommendations. We are seeking a candidate that is creative and innovative in their approach and is not afraid to challenge traditional thinking in an effort to provide fresh foresight and perspective.  

This position will be required to perform a range of audits across the company, working under the direction of any of the Internal Audit Managers based on their specific Annual Audit Plan assignments.

What you’ll do

  • Support and execute IT audit plans, including completion of detailed risk assessments of business areas under review, determination of audit scope and objectives, and development of audit programs

  • Assist/Lead/execute audits or projects including discussions with client, performance of substantive testing, review of controls and risk mitigation practices, and completion of file documentation in keeping with IIA and department standards

  • Identify and follow-up on complex and sensitive issues within business areas, and provide value added business advice, considering alternatives and making recommended solutions

  • Prepare formal audit reports that contain observations and recommendations, and communicate results to business area management

  • Follow-up on audit recommendations to assess appropriateness of risk mitigation measures taken

  • Support and participate in the Internal Audit data analytics and continuous monitoring program

  • Prioritize activities to ensure achievement of engagement objectives

  • Conduct research on detailed technical or best-practice standards and provide recommendations for business area consideration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma in business or IT (required)

  • Professional designation such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of 4+ years progressive business experience, with solid experience in IT auditing of various IT systems (including SAP) and Cyber Security or 4+ years of operational experience

  • Data analytics experience with tools such as ACL, PowerBI, etc.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with audit clients

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple and competing priorities under tight deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IIA Standards and risk-based audit methodologies

  • Experience auditing ICS/SCADA

  • Experience working with audit management software (i.e. Audit Board)

  • Ability to work in Spanish

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review

  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required

  • Overnight stays away from home base will be required

  • Possess, or be eligible to receive, a valid passport and maintain travel eligibility for Domestic, Cross Border, and International Travel (including the USA and Mexico)

  • Bankruptcy, Credit, Civil and Criminal background checks will be required
