About Opendoor

At Opendoor our mission is to tilt the world in favor of homeowners and those who aim to become one. Homeownership matters. It's how people build wealth, stability, and community. It's how families put down roots, how neighborhoods strengthen, how the future gets built. We're building the modern system of homeownership giving people the freedom to buy and sell on their own terms. We’ve built an end-to-end online experience that has already helped thousands of people and we’re just getting started.

About The Role

The IT Systems Specialist team owns the systems, tools, and processes that keep Opendoor’s employees productive, secure, and connected. Our work spans endpoint management, identity and access, SaaS applications, office technology, and workplace infrastructure.

As an IT Specialist, you’ll serve as a global systems administrator and technical owner for our Toronto office. You’ll architect and administer endpoint and identity platforms, manage enterprise device and application lifecycles, investigate complex system-level technical issues, and partner with IT Engineering and Security on escalated or cross-functional initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone with a systems-administration mindset who enjoys improving reliability, automating repeatable work, strengthening security controls, and building scalable processes. You’ll provide hands-on technical support when needed, but your primary focus will be administration, and continuous improvement of core identity and endpoint infrastructure and other core employee tooling systems.

What You'll Do
  • Manage escalated requests, system integrations, and technical projects through the IT service management process.
  • Administer endpoint, identity, and SaaS platforms, including Jamf, Intune, Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.
  • Design and deploy global device configuration profiles, application deployment, patching, encryption, security controls, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex endpoint, access, application, network, and office technology issues, focusing on code/scripting-level root cause and durable solutions.
  • Own hardware and software lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, inventory, refresh, and retirement.
  • Monitor system health and develop advanced automations, documentation, and processes that improve reliability and reduce manual work.
  • Partner with Workplace, Security, and Engineering on network architecture and workspace tech integration. Contribute to onboarding and offboarding automation, access reviews, change management, and defined on-call coverage.
  • Act as an escalation contact for critical office infrastructure outages.
What You'll Need
  • Experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role.
  • Experience administering macOS and Windows endpoints in a business environment.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with an MDM platform such as Jamf, Fleet, Intune, or similar.
  • Experience managing identity and access through Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, or a comparable platform.
  • Familiarity with SaaS administration, endpoint security, patching, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or workflow improvement.
  • Strong technical judgment, documentation skills, and ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Clear communication and a service-oriented approach when partnering with employees and technical teams.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Jamf Certified Admin, GoogleWorkspace Administrator, Okta Certified Administrator) are a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, typically up to ~40 lbs.

Location

We're looking for team members who are enthusiastic about an in-office culture — people who want to build alongside others and not from a distance. This role is based in one of our talent hubs where we welcome everyone 5 days a week with the requirement of Mo, Tu, Th, Fri.
