Responsible for Jira administration and configuration, managing user access, supporting Agile teams, designing workflows, and providing training on Jira best practices.
This is a remote position.
Client is seeking an experienced Jira Administrator with deep expertise in Jira administration, configuration, and Agile process support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing Jira environments, configuring workflows and boards, handling user access and permissions, and supporting Scrum/Kanban delivery teams. This role requires hands-on experience with Jira administration beyond basic end-user functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Jira Cloud and/or Jira Data Center environments.
- Configure Jira projects, issue types, custom fields, screens, schemes, and notifications.
- Manage system settings, integrations, plugins, and automation rules.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot Jira-related issues.
- Maintain Jira governance, standards, and best practices.
- Design and configure complex Jira workflows aligned with business processes.
- Create and manage Scrum and Kanban boards.
- Configure backlog management, sprint planning, estimations, and reporting dashboards.
- Customize workflows, statuses, transitions, validators, conditions, and post-functions.
- Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and permission schemes.
- Configure project-level security and access controls.
- Support SSO/LDAP/Active Directory integrations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.
- Support Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Configure Agile boards, sprint settings, swimlanes, filters, and reports.
- Work closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Development teams.
- Provide guidance on Jira best practices for Agile delivery.
- Create dashboards, reports, filters, and Jira queries (JQL).
- Support executive and operational reporting requirements.
- Develop metrics and KPIs for Agile delivery tracking.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Jira users.
- Create documentation, user guides, and administration procedures.
- Train users on Jira functionalities and best practices.
RequirementsMandatory Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Jira Administration experience.
- Strong expertise in:
- Jira Administration & Configuration
- Workflow Design & Customization
- Jira Boards & Agile Configuration
- User Management & Permission Schemes
- JQL (Jira Query Language)
- Scrum and Kanban methodologies
- Jira Administration & Configuration
- Experience with Jira Cloud and/or Jira Data Center.
- Strong understanding of Agile SDLC processes.
- Experience with Jira Automation and Marketplace plugins.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with Confluence administration.
- Experience integrating Jira with tools such as:
- Bitbucket
- GitHub
- Azure DevOps
- ServiceNow
- Slack/MS Teams
- Bitbucket
- Knowledge of scripting tools (Groovy, ScriptRunner) is an asset.
- Atlassian certifications are preferred:
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator
- ACP Certifications
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator
