About the opportunity

Join Figment and help it in becoming the world’s leading staking services provider. Figment currently has over $15B assets under stake and growing. This role combines data engineering practices and software development, focusing on data pipelines and cloud infrastructure. The position requires building custom tools and automating data processes in a highly secure and scalable environment.

How you will make an impact

  • Data Reporting and Reviews: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports. Query databases, review and process data to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Collection: Investigating new chains and their corresponding block explorers in order to figure out ways of collecting data from these chains. Write instructions for our Data Entry Team and assist Engineering Manager with coordination of Data Entry Team.
  • Data Troubleshooting: Review ingested data to flag issues and drive the investigation of any data quality issues. This investigation will involve querying databases and working with existing 3rd party integrations.
  • Automate! Automate! Automate!: When not working on manual and hybrid processes that will be required to do the above, will be working on automating them to be able to have growing capacity to work on other opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams like Engineering, Product, Finance, and Customer Success to deliver tailored data solutions.

What you bring to the team

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience of IT experience (including co-op and internship experience)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and at least one mature programming language (ideally Python)
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex insights clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Strong Written Skills: Strong ability to write clear, concise and accurate documentation.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong experience with investigating and resolving data quality issues.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong skills in data analysis and visualization.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and reliability in data reporting and analysis.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to new challenges as they arise.
  • Must have a passion/desire to work in and learn this space because will be working with blockchain data and block explorers on a daily basis.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with any of the following: Python, GitHub, Snowflake, Dagster, DBT
  • Knowledge of decentralized consensus mechanisms, including Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake.
  • Experience with delivering solutions that automate manual processes.

Compensation

One of Figment’s core principles is “Making the Invisible Visible” - ensuring transparency and information sharing in all communication. Figment is committed to transparency regarding pay, benefits, and other compensation types for all internal roles as well as all roles being hired for.

Base Salary: The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD $90,000 - $105,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.

At Figment, we try to go above and beyond in making sure that you have the best possible experience interviewing with us. We strive for a smooth, organized, and informative process.

  • During your first Recruiter Call, you will be provided with more information about Figment, the position and what to expect for the rest of the interview process. Please be prepared to discuss why you are interested in joining Figment and what excites you about the position and company.
  • As we go through the process, we work to make sure that you hear back from us in a timely fashion. If we decide at any point that we’re unfortunately not moving forward, we will give you feedback on why it was not a fit.
  • We aim for the entire process to take around 2-3 weeks from initial screen to offer. There can be exceptions on either side of the bell curve here, but as a rule, that’s the time-frame you can expect.
