Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented and creative Landscape Architectural Designer to be based in Calgary, AB.
As a member of AECOM’s Landscape practice, you will support a range of types and scales of projects, including streetscapes, community parks, renewable energy, transport and infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes. These projects offer the opportunity to work in small multi-disciplinary teams, influencing design from an early stage and shaping the landscape on a broad scale, while supporting progress towards net zero and delivering wider environmental and social benefits.
We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience and a keen and demonstrable interest in landscape planning, and conceptual and detailed design. This is an opportunity to join a team which is growing and with strong links across many disciplines.
We are looking for a team player with good technical skills who wishes to be involved in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating, and challenging. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.
This is a full-time role expected to begin in May 2025.
Job Responsibilities:
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a good level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project tasks:
- Performs complex drafting assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations as per the site conditions.
- Ensures that the given jobs are completed on time and comply with the client’s requirements.
- Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines for drafting assignments.
- Minimal instruction on daily work and general instructions on new assignments.
- Develops and distributes prints and exports for team coordination & final drawing deliverables.
- Performs QA & QC on discipline drawings.
- Understands procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
- Communicates with clarity and purpose. Listens and learns from others.
- Operates with the highest standards of integrity always.
- Supports colleagues and works across team boundaries to deliver.
- Proactively looks for opportunities to add value and produces high-quality work.
- Ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner, objectives met and takes accountability for results.
- Makes safety a priority.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

Will be completing or have completed their Bachelors or Masters in Landscape Architecture or related post-secondary program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Portfolio of project assignments from prior education and work experience that demonstrates your creative / conceptual design abilities, graphic sensibilities, and technical skills.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D software tools necessary to complete the work identified in the Job Summary above. Please list current software tools and level of proficiency in your CV or portfolio.
- Excellent skills in creative problem solving and conceptual design.
- Visual + graphics communications skills in 2D and 3D.
- Experience working as part of a diverse team through prior education and work experiences.
