Responsibilities

Builds, codes, tests, maintain high quality software

Participates in Agile sprints and ceremonies; supports rapid iteration and development

Translates user requirements into software requirements

Develops, maintains, and tests data pipelines, application framework, infrastructure for data generation; works closely with information architects and Data Scientists

Experience initializing and managing cloud platforms: Azure (Data Bricks, Data Lake), AWS.

Accepts and modifies specifications and standards

Builds and codes complex software

Manages portions of development project

Coach, guide and mentor teammates at lower levels

Contributes code across Division

Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & understands nature of impact

What we are looking for

Leadership proven experience as in a similar role
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

Relevant certifications and experience leading digital transformation projects and handling multi-functional teams.

Knowledge of agile and DevOps principles, development strategies focused on testing, continuous integration, and other techniques to hasten the delivery of new features

Understanding of software development lifecycle

Understanding of how technology supports Manulife business strategy

Familiar with platform technologies
-
Knowledgeable about current software frameworks and development practices

Familiar with scripting languages
-
Familiar with database technologies such as: MySQL, Postgres, Hadoop, Spark

Multiple contexts and engineering languages

Needs to attend conferences to learn from others

Salary range is expected to be between
$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
