Lead Program Manager
We seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our organization as a Lead Program Manager of, Managed Services Program Management Office (PMO). This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in cybersecurity, extensive project management expertise, and the ability to drive transformative initiatives. This is a hybrid role (3 days on-site/2 days remote) based out of one of our US offices (Boston, Austin, Tampa, Arlington,VA).
About the Team
The Managed Services Program Management Office (PMO) oversees and optimizes the delivery of Rapid7 Managed Services, ensuring alignment with business objectives, driving strategic direction, and fostering continuous improvement. The PMO leads program and project initiatives within and affecting the Managed Services organization, serving as a central hub for collaboration, enablement, and reporting across service teams and Rapid7. This approach enhances coordination, improves transparency, and drives greater effectiveness in service delivery.
About the Role
The Lead Program Manager will play a critical role in driving the success of key programs and initiatives by leveraging data, metrics, and cross-functional collaboration. This position focuses on delivering impactful results, supporting business objectives, and ensuring operational excellence.
In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate on Product and Service Programs and Initiatives:
    • Work closely with Managed Services Product Managers and Service Delivery teams to drive and contribute to the success of key initiatives.
    • Leverage data analytics, SQL, and open search tools to analyze program performance and provide actionable insights.
    • Participate in developing, presenting, and executing strategies that align with business objectives and management goals.
  • Contribute to Program Management Success:
    • Collaborate on cross-departmental programs and projects, ensuring they are strategically aligned with the company's goals.
    • Present the story of your data-driven insights to prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and address potential risks with other leads, managers, and stakeholders.
    • Present monthly, quarterly, yearly, and adhoc reporting on churn analysis and escalation data.
    • Assist in presenting and promoting the application of best practices for program initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
    • Support business decisions using metrics and analytics to optimize program outcomes.
  • Build and Maintain Stakeholder Relationships:
    • Partner with leaders from product, customer success, sales, marketing, UX, engineering, and operations teams to align program outcomes with organizational needs.
    • Provide clear, data-supported updates to stakeholders on program status, challenges, and successes.
    • Foster effective communication channels to address questions, concerns, and opportunities for continued collaboration.
  • Drive Operational Excellence:
    • Contribute to creating and refining repeatable processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify trends, inform decisions, and suggest improvements.
    • Assist in developing and refining frameworks that support the scaling of Managed Services offerings.


Examples of Metrics:

  • Use SQL to query and analyze data from multiple sources, including project timelines, team performance metrics, and resource allocation. Identify delays, uncover root causes, and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Leverage Open Search to explore and analyze customer feedback trends, operational data, and support tickets. Use insights to identify pain points and recommend customer experience and program performance improvements.
  • Build Dashboards in OpenSearch, Tableau, and similar BI tools to represent key program metrics visually. Highlight project status, risks, and opportunities in a way that is accessible and actionable for teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop Reports and KPIs by integrating data from Salesforce, NetSuite, Gainsight, and other platforms. Track project completion rates, team productivity, resource utilization, and customer satisfaction scores to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Optimize JIRA Workflows to manage and track project progress, ensuring team alignment. Use JIRA dashboards and reports to monitor sprint velocity, issue resolution times, and task dependencies.
  • Analyze CRM Data in Salesforce and Gainsight to track customer health, and program outcomes, and identify areas for proactive engagement or intervention.


The skills you'll bring include:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior Program Manager role within a cyber security PMO or similar function
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification is preferred
  • Strong applied skills preferred in SQL, OpenSearch, Tableau, JIRA, Salesforce, and Snowflake
  • Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen with a track record of successfully executing technology initiatives aligned with business and financial objectives
  • Strong understanding of Managed Detection & Response (MDR), Managed Vulnerability Management (MVM), Managed Application Scanning (MAS), Professional Services, and software development processes
  • History of successfully launching new services and product capabilities to the market
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects and driving transformative initiatives
