SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Gun Production Supervisor will provide leadership and direction necessary to sustain the company’s growth within the framework of the strategic plans and goals of the company.
They will oversee the daily operations to ensure safe, efficient production and high-quality output. This role leads and develops production staff, maintains workflow by setting up equipment and verifying materials, and ensures products meet design specifications and delivery timelines. The supervisor supports inventory control through Oracle transactions, communicates plant conditions to leadership, and upholds ethical practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain a work environment that shows concern for its people and property, while promoting autonomy and growth of each individual employee.
Set up and calibrate machines while verifying materials to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
Responsible for the quality of all finished products ensuring they consistently meet established design specifications.
Produce products with accuracy in alignment with sales orders and guidelines set by the Production Manager.
Perform all responsibilities with a strong commitment to ethical and sound decision-making practices.
Lead and oversee lead hands and other gun shop personnel to ensure operational effectiveness.
Provide training and development opportunities to support employee growth and performance.
Communicate regularly with the Production Manager regarding the overall condition and operations of the plant.
Serve as acting Gun Production Manager during periods of absence.
Carry out assigned Oracle transaction tasks and maintain accurate inventory control.
Notify Production Manager of the condition of the plant in all aspects.
Oracle transaction/Inventory control duty as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
10 years’ experience in a machine shop and related industry.
Journeyman ticket in machining or millwright, or 5+ years experience operating CNC machines and relevant experience.
Programming course or 5 years programming experience
Supervisory or Team Lead experience required.
Basic CNC machining class work or certificate preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to write and read reports and blueprints.
Excellent computer skills and ability to program CNC machines.
A results-driven professional with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, capable of effectively motivating and guiding a team of dedicated employees.
Ability to achieve goals in a timely, efficient manner.
Proficient in the use and application of measuring instruments, with a strong understanding of proper measurement techniques and tools.
Intermediate with MS Word, Excel, and Oracle.
