Manager, Accounting

Overview:
The Ethoca Finance organization within MasterCard Controllership team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join them as the Manager, Accounting. This position will report to the Director, Controller. This position is based in Toronto.
The Manager is responsible for managing the integration of Minna, a newly acquired entity owned by Mastercard, ensuring the controllership functions are properly integrated, as well as responsible for financial accounting, financial reporting and daily operating activities
Role:
Accounting and Internal Controls
- Ensure controllership functions are properly integrated for newly acquired entities to Mastercard, including areas such as billing, journal entries, reconciliations, etc.
- Monitor and support team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition post M&A
- Oversee and review the preparation of financial and management reports; analyze and interpret trends requiring management’s attention
- Present findings and specific recommendations to senior management
- Direct efforts to strengthen/implement existing controls in alignment with Mastercard polices
Daily Operational Activities
- Manage and lead billing, cash application and accounts receivable processes
- Serve as a point of escalation for compliance and service level issues to help resolve issues in a timely manner
- Own business partner relationships and apply a client-service mentality towards managing and executing close processes (i.e., monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimize business processes, develop desktop procedures and implement/monitor them accordingly
All About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required and/or MBA preferred
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting procedures
- Experience in Netsuite and Oracle is a plus
- Prior work experience in accounting and billing processes preferred
- Experience in leading teams and managing financial operations in multinational organizations a plus
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Results-driven and motivated to drive change in a complex organization
