The Boeing Communications team is seeking a Mid-Level Site Communications Specialist to join the team in San Antonio, TX, home to more than 3,000 teammates who provide aircraft maintenance and modification for some of our most iconic products, including the C-17, F-15 and B-52, in addition to other key Boeing programs.
As a member of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Communications team, the candidate will partner with site executives, communications teammates and other stakeholders to develop and execute communications strategies that highlight Boeing's innovative work and keep its talented workforce informed, aligned and engaged. This role also will provide occasional remote support to smaller sites in North Texas.
The successful candidate will have strong writing, editing, video creation, and strategy development skills. The candidate must be capable to build strong relationships and collaborate with peers and senior leaders, learn the aerospace services business and its customers, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in San Antonio full-time, with flexibility as needed.

Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications Planning
- Develop and execute communication plans aligned with site executives' priorities, including site culture, talent acquisition/retention, achievement of milestones, events, leadership initiatives, and stakeholder needs
- Translate complex aerospace and defense information and goals into clear, compelling messages
- Work in partnership with other communicators and/or business partners to support business-led communications plans and activities that involve work by the San Antonio team
Employee Communications
- Partner with site leadership to drive local employee morale, as well as employee awareness of and alignment with site priorities and initiatives
- Produce internal communications deliverables - both written and video - such as internal news and feature stories, leadership messages and newsletters
- Deliver internal updates through provided company channels with clarity and purpose, all in alignment with the BGS employee communications strategy
- Monitor workforce sentiment and advise leaders on communications effectiveness
Executive and Stakeholder Support
- Provide counsel to the site leadership team on communications issues, risks, and opportunities
- Prepare site leaders for employee engagements or other internal/external events
- Partner with business leaders and other functions on site and local engagement initiatives such as volunteering and other community events
- Collaborate with security teams to provide communications support around severe weather events and other safety and security issues, both in San Antonio and North Texas
- Provide communications support for high-profile visits by company and customer leaders
Digital and Visual Communications
- Create and collaborate on videos, photos, graphics, social media and digital storytelling
- Ensure brand consistency across all assets and messaging
Media Relations
- Develop relationships with local media
- Prepare site spokespeople for media interviews and/or may serve as a site spokesperson
- Contribute to press releases, media kits, and talking points tailored to key audiences
- Monitor industry news and align messaging to support company and public narrative
Measurement and Feedback
- Track key performance indicators such as employee engagement, message penetration, media reach and reputation metrics
- Use feedback loops to adjust tactics in real time
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience with communications planning and implementation
- Experience in internal, executive, or external communications support, including advising leaders on strategy
- Experience in communication planning inclusive of leader messages, internal stories, videos, web and social media content
- Experience with content creation, including creating and editing copy, images and video
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- U.S. government security clearance
- Aerospace industry experience and/or government sector experience
- Experience working with stakeholders across multiple organizations to drive common objectives
- Additional certifications or degrees in the public relations/communications field
