As the Middle QA Engineer, you will lead testing efforts in a cross-functional team, ensuring the quality and usability of games. Responsibilities include developing test plans, organizing testing sessions, identifying bugs, and promoting quality best practices while staying updated with industry trends.
Role Overview:
As the sole QA professional in a cross-functional team, you will take ownership of the testing process to ensure the quality, functionality, and usability of our games. You will lead testing efforts within your team, collaborating closely with all diciplinaries to deliver a seamless player experience. This is a hands-on role where you will organize and execute testing tasks while fostering a quality-driven mindset within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of testing efforts with your cross-functional team, ensuring thorough test coverage across desktop platforms Windows, macOS (and later mobile platform iOS, Android)
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts to validate new features, non-functional requirements, and regression testing.
- Organize team-wide testing sessions to identify issues and promote a shared understanding of quality.
- Take responsibility for identifying, reporting, and tracking bugs and defects, providing actionable feedback to developers and designers.
- Act as the testing advocate within your team, guiding them on quality best practices and fostering a collaborative approach to bug resolution.
- Stay proactive in identifying edge cases and risks, suggesting improvements to testing processes or product features.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging tools that can improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- QA experience in the gaming industry, ideally with both mobile or desktop games.
- Ability to lead and coordinate testing activities independently within a cross functional team.
- Solid understanding of PC and mobile gaming platforms, and operating systems (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows, macOS).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage testing priorities and expectations with your team.
- Ability to perform exploratory testing and identify edge cases and high-impact issues.
- Passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering a great player experience. • Experienced with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana).
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with game development tools (e.g., Unity editor, cloud build service) and version control systems.
- Familiar with blockchain and web3 gaming
