THE ROLE:
 

Our Marketing team at Petronas Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Scheduler who is passionate about the energy industry and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As a valuable member of our small, high-performing team, you will report directly to the Manager of Marketing and play a pivotal role in the scheduling of natural gas through various pipelines and storage facilities. Your responsibilities will include creating and executing daily schedules, monitoring pipeline activity, and working closely with customers and pipeline operators to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of natural gas.
This role requires understanding of pipeline operations, and regulatory requirements, combined with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Manage the balancing and scheduling of various natural gas pipelines (Enbridge Westcoast, NGTL, TC Mainline, and future LNG)
  • Conduct gas buy/sell activities to balance accounts, including weekends
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and provide backup coverage when required
  • Track and interpret pipeline curtailments and operational issues to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Help set up daily/monthly sales as necessary and analyze forecast data for natural gas production
  • Process monthly invoicing for all pipelines and support pipeline optimization efforts
  • Collaborate closely with internal groups including Operations, Production, Finance, and Accounting to ensure smooth and efficient operations

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in Upstream
  • Experience in natural gas, scheduling, or related roles is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of commodity markets in North America, with a focus on Canada
  • The ability to forge, grow, and sustain positive relationships with diverse groups
