Job Description
The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, operating and optimizing the company's network components, ensuring the reliability and security of internal and external data communications. This role involves monitoring the network, resolving problems, implementing security policies and supporting users.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Monitoring: Monitor network performance and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimum availability.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve network problems, including connectivity issues, network performance and security incidents.
- Configuration and Installation: Configure and install network equipment, such as routers, switches and firewalls, following industry best practices.
- Network security: Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures, including access management, VPNs, and intrusion prevention.
- Update Management: Plan and apply software and firmware updates to network equipment to ensure security and performance.
- Technical Support: Provide Level II support to end-users for network problems and work with IT teams to resolve complex incidents.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configuration, operating procedures and change logs.
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, telecommunications engineering, or related field
- Professional experience as a network administrator, with in-depth knowledge of network technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS, VPN (IPSec, SSL), Netflow, as well as level 2 (L2) communication and level 3 (L3) routing concepts.
- Basic knowledge of network technologies and protocols such as BGP, VXLAN-EVPN, 802.1x, ZTNA, SD-WAN, SD-Access, as well as cloud networking environments is an asset.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network equipment (Cisco & Meraki)
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices
- Ability to analyze and solve complex network problems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills
- Network certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent are preferred
