The Opportunity

Our Natural Gas IS Solutions team is looking to add a developer/support resource in Calgary. The NGIS Application Support Developer role includes support for the SIM Synergi suite of applications.

We seek an application support/developer with knowledge and experience in natural gas simulation software, data science, and general IS technologies such as SQL, C#, and AWS. This individual should have proven skills and competencies to implement application changes, manage vendors, and address business requests.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the natural gas pipeline planning and design business unit to deliver and support solutions aligned with business capability and growth.
  • Support the SIM Synergi suite, which includes tools for hydraulic modeling, simulation, pipeline integrity, and operational risk management.
  • Participate in the documentation, design, development, configuration, testing, and support of business applications in our technical portfolio.
  • Innovate and continually seek opportunities for improvement aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide production support for business applications in the portfolio.
  • Adhere to TC Energy standards on change management, cybersecurity, problem management, and incident tracking.
  • Use business experience and problem-solving skills to design and develop customization and integration solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in software configuration, customization, and development.
  • Team player who supports team members and works together to achieve goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management, strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with the business/user community and/or business analysts to determine functional or technical requirements, perform custom reporting, or solve specific application problems or issues.
  • Liaise with different business and technical stakeholders to ensure successful solution configuration.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the natural gas simulation software field, developing, and implementing technical solutions to meet complex business requirements.
  • Knowledge of SIM systems.
  • Experience with MS SQL.
  • Experience with Athena, SDLF, Python, C#/.NET/ASP, and Java.
