We are actively seeking contractor Field Operator’s to join our operations teams located in the West Central Saskatchewan, East Central Alberta area. Reporting to the Operations Foreman, the successful candidate is responsible for routine surveillance and minor maintenance activities in support of our operations. The candidate will have a full working knowledge of safety procedures, plant equipment, and all areas of plant & field operations. The position ensures maximum efficient production recovery while meeting regulatory compliance and sales specifications. Operating instructions are well established; however, judgement is utilized in the selection of work methods. The candidate may be required to plan and coordinate the work of contract or maintenance crews.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain logbooks to ensure entries are legible, informative, and time stamped.

  • Responsible for accurately issuing Safe Work Agreements in their assigned work area.

  • Direct maintenance and ensure that the work is completed as per Strathcona procedures and work standards.

  • Provide coaching and training to other employees.

  • Provide responsible and effective leadership as may be required during emergency situations or maintenance situations.

  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) drills, as well as near miss, incident, and behavioral based safety program initiatives.

  • Operate within Federal, Provincial, and Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment regulations & guidelines always.

  • Provide creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise within the plant & field environment i.e. troubleshooting, flagging deficiencies and recommending changes to current practices.

  • Write, review, and revise Operations Procedures.

  • Report deficiencies, initiate MOCs and enter work orders.

  • Willing to train/work in all operating positions in the plant and field.

  • Ensure all areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company standards.

  • Committed to working in a team environment.

  • Continue to learn new tasks and openly accept/give feedback.

  • Continue to improve levels of competence and interpersonal skills.

  • Represent the corporation in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.

  • Use and learn computer software applicable to the facility.

Qualifications Include:

  • Candidate preference will be given to individuals that have a minimum of 8-10 years of direct related experience in plant & field operations.

  • Mechanical, instrument & electrical experience is highly desired.

Work Environment:

  • Openings at various assets throughout our Lloydminster Conventional Business Unit.

  • The successful candidate is required to reside within 75 km of the working areas.

  • 12-hour 7/7 shift rotation for facilities & 10-hour 8/6 for field rotation.
