This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for an Analytics Engineering Intern to join our IT Team for the summer months. You will be part of a unique and award-winning program within the company which provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.
In this role, you will work in a collaborative team environment to enhance and expand the capabilities of the Oracle Analytics Cloud Reports and ETL Data Loads. The results of your work will be used across the cloud organization for improved productivity, reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Partner with OAC SMEs to analyze current Reports, Dashboards to document, enhance and conduct unit testing and integration testing for functionality.
  • Create the required accompanying technical documentation.
  • Add features to the existing analyses and reports.
  • Participate in daily scrum and technical discussions within cloud group in all phases of the SDLC: review requirements, produce design documents, participate in peer reviews, produce test plans, support QA team.  
  • Support test strategy and automation in both end-to-end solution and functional testing.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Maaster's Degree program majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preference will be given to students who have previous internship or work experience.
  • Familiar with any of the Analytics or Reporting tools such as Oracle Analytics, Oracle BI, Power BI.
  • Familiar with Linux and Windows OS.
  • Understanding of Data Science and Data Analysis.
  • Good querying skills on Oracle database with ability to understand and debug PL/SQL Queries and procedures
  • Must understand basic computer programming concepts, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
  • Familiar with source control applications such as GIT.
  • Detail oriented with Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September)

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

There are different ranges applied to specific locations. The average base pay range (or OTE range for sales) in the U.S. for the position is listed below.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

23.00 - 29.90 USD Hourly

All Other Locations:

20.00 - 26.00 USD Hourly
