POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Order Writer to join our team, specializing in buying and replenishing essential food and culinary items. In this role, you will be responsible for placing orders using company-provided tools and adhering to a predefined purchasing catalogue. You will collaborate closely with the Receiving team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining meticulous logs and updates of daily tasks. Your ability to identify and escalate issues such as spoilage, delayed orders, or discrepancies will be key to ensuring smooth operations.

As an Order Writer, you will also oversee special order procedures, support inventory control, and stay informed of FDA guidelines as communicated by the internal team. Providing excellent customer service, maintaining a sense of urgency, and ensuring accuracy in all tasks will be critical to your success. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

•    Place orders for replenished food and culinary miscellaneous items following company’s guidelines and instructions
•    Place all orders utilizing company’s internal tool
•    Adhere to a provided purchasing catalogue for all orders placed
•    Coordinate and collaborate with a separate Receiving team to ensure orders placed are received on time and as ordered
•    Escalate any issues encountered with ordering and receiving to the internal leadership team
•    Maintain organized logs and updates of daily tasks
•    Oversee special order procedures
•    Escalate all issues to internal leadership team (ex: spoilage, wrong items received, delayed orders, etc)
•    Support inventory control as requested
•    Stay up to date with FDA guidelines as provided by internal team
•    Monitor and report upon purchase order issues or fund shortage
•    Provide excellent customer service
•    Conduct each task with sense of urgency and accuracy

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    1+ years of experience in order writing, buying or similar role
•    Be highly organized and reliable
