THE POSITION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting our OT infrastructure from cyber threats as well as providing routine system and network support to our Industrial Control Networks. You will work with our Technical Services division to ensure the security and safe operation of our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) across the organization while supporting the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recommend and implement secure network architecture and controls for OT systems and applications in compliance with business requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor cybersecurity alerts from various security tools, triage, and respond accordingly making physical and logical changes where appropriate to mitigate threats without compromising process safety.
  • Analyze cybersecurity events and incidents, distinguishing between legitimate threats and false positives, and escalating when necessary.
  • Assist in cyber incident responses, mitigating attacks quickly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of OT networks to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Provide technical expertise in developing and enhancing network security measures for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to ensure alignment with corporate security strategies and best practices.
  • Stay updated on emerging OT cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: A degree or technical diploma in any related field. Formal training in any of the following is considered an asset: Computer Networking, System Administration, Industrial Networks, OT Cybersecurity, Process Control Systems, Control Systems Integration/Automation.
  • Certifications: Network specific certifications (CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, etc.) are desirable. SANS certifications (e.g., ICS410, GICSP, ICS515, GRID) are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of OT and IT cybersecurity principles, frameworks (NIST, ISO), and technologies.
  • Experience operating and maintaining various brands of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and familiarity with their unique security requirements.
  • Hands on experience with networking gear from a variety of vendors (Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, Moxa, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies, including firewalls, VLANS, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft environments (Windows 10/11, Server 2016+), Active Directory, VMware, and WSUS patching systems.
  • Linux administration experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Wireshark, TCPDump, Volatility, Zeek, Dragos Platform, Kibana, Airflow, Suricata, are all considered beneficial.
  • Basic scripting skills in languages such as YARA, Python, Lua, etc.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement swift, thorough solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and think creatively.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
