JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Sysco Selector, or as we like to refer to you, "Industrial Athlete", you will handle an average of 1,500 cases per shift, with each case weighing around 30 pounds and some weighing up to 70 pounds. The role is highly physical — you’ll be walking, standing, stretching, and bending constantly, often covering more than 10 kilometers in a single shift. Because the work is repetitive, the ideal candidate is self-motivated and enjoys challenging themselves. The hours typically appeal to night owls, with shifts usually starting early afternoon and ending early morning.

Despite the demands, this role is highly rewarding. The pay is above average, with opportunities to earn more on each bi-weekly paycheck based on your ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely. There is also significant room for career advancement—many of our Managers and Senior Leaders began in this very position and grew their careers within our Fortune 50 company. With hard work and dedication, your efforts

  • Frequently lift products weighing 1–75 pounds and up to 88 pounds; regularly reach, bend, and twist while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, including retrieving items from lower shelves.
  • Operate an electric pallet jack or forklift to transport product.
  • Stage pallets for loading at the proper dock locations.
  • Shrink-wrap product on the loading dock.
  • Follow all sanitation requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including pallet jacks, SOS units, and personal protective equipment. Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and safely operate all mechanical equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English as required for the role and safety regulations.
  • Must pass all pre-employment testing (Background Check, Physical Abilities Test).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse experience is an asset, but not required.

Hours of Work

  • 4 days per week, typically 10-hour shifts.
  • Start times of 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
  • Work most statutory holidays; receive “floater” time off in lieu, which can be booked like vacation.

Compensation

  • Start: $27.71 per hour
  • After 2 years: $31.81 per hour
  • After 3 years: $33.21 per hour
  • After 4 years: $37.49 per hour
  • Night shift premium (as applicable).
  • Eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
