As a Payroll Specialist, reporting to the US Controller, you will manage the full payroll process from preparation, records maintenance, and monthly financial reporting for the Company employees across the United States. You will help shape the payroll function of Silverfort, a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities

  • Perform end to end semi-monthly payroll processing for US employees across multiple states. Ensure accurate input and timely processing by collaborating closely with other teams within the Company.
  • Ensure payroll practices adhere to applicable labor laws, including FLSA, state wage and hour laws. Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement necessary changes to processes and policies.
  • Perform periodic audits of our payroll data to ensure accuracy of employee pay information.
  • Design and implement process improvements and internal controls to the payroll process.
  • Ensure benefit deductions and tax withholdings calculated and reported timely and accurately.
  • Lead all aspects of the monthly financial reporting process as it relates to payroll, such as preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions or concerns from employees, providing clear and timely responses. Educate employees on payroll processes, deductions, and tax withholdings as needed.
  • Exercise the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all payroll information and employee privacy initiatives.
  • Perform Year-End Payroll processing activities, e.g., W-2, Form-3921.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the US Controller.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of payroll principles, multi-state tax laws, employee garnishments, regulations, reporting, and procedures.
  • Exhibits working knowledge of calculation of all components of payroll gross to net.
  • Knowledge of payroll concepts include pre- and post- tax benefits, deductions, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll laws, and general legal requirements for tax registration, reporting, and special pay requirements
  • Experience with payroll full process input-to-regulatory reporting reconciliations.
  • Dependable, honest, and respectful of others


Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, or equivalent a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years progressive payroll related experience, including multi-state payroll tax experience.
  • ADP Workforce Now is A MUST
  • NetSuite experience is a big plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, mainly Microsoft Excel.
  • High-tech industry experience is advantageous.


We prefer this candidate to be located in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) This is a remote role.
