PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $152,300.00-$186,100.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $118,200.00 - $220,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.  Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance.  We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees.  Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan.  Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As the People Business Partner Director - Technology, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the people strategies to drive long-term success for BECU’s Tech organization. You’ll directly influence the direction of talent planning, culture and employee engagement. Your work will ensure we attract, retain, and develop the best talent, and you’ll help lead the organization through change to maximize both individual and business performance.

To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, or TX. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila HQ, we ask that you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.  For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote with the potential for some required travel based on business needs. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drive People Strategies: Partner with Tech leaders to craft and execute a people strategy that aligns seamlessly with Tech objectives. Your expertise will ensure our Tech team maximizes performance by effectively attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.

  • Thought Partner and Trusted Advisor: Become a key thought partner to Tech senior leaders advising and guiding on leadership behaviors, change management, employee engagement, and performance strategies. You’ll help foster a culture of continuous growth and development while improving leadership capabilities across the organization.  Providing a safe space for discussing opportunities and challenges that impact business strategy. Your insights will be crucial in decision-making processes, ensuring smooth execution of business goals.

  • Talent Planning and Organizational Design: Work with business leaders to define goals that support current and future talent needs, including recruitment, performance management, and succession planning. You’ll also collaborate with HR experts to drive organizational design changes that strengthen business units.

  • Change Leadership: Lead the development and execution of strategies that manage change within the organization, ensuring smooth transitions as we evolve to meet business needs. Your leadership in change management will help BECU navigate challenges and emerge stronger.

  • Lead and Execute People Programs: Equip and enable leaders with the tools to enhance their teams' performance. You’ll also partner with HR experts to implement initiatives that promote organizational growth and capability building.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with HR and business leaders across divisions to ensure a seamless delivery of integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. You’ll participate in key projects and initiatives that align with both short-term and long-term objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience directly supporting Tech teams through digital transformation.

  • Experience building people strategies to drive Tech objectives and people transformation from traditional IT to modern agile technology work force.

  • Typically requires a minimum of ten years of progressive HR or relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resource Management, or equivalent work experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in talent planning with sound principles on moving a technology organization forward.

  • Experience working in an Agile Technology Delivery set up.

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

  • Excellent consulting, strategic planning and visionary skills.

  • Demonstrated sound judgment, along with the courage to take smart risks that improve business performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently and collaboratively develop, drive and contribute to overall strategy and business plans in a rapidly developing/changing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively embrace and lead change.

  • Flexible yet solution oriented and driven during times of ambiguity.

  • Recognized competence in organizational design, change management, leadership development, coaching, compensation, and other HR disciplines.

  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to develop presentations and present ideas at both the “big picture” and detail level.

  • Strong relationship management skills and demonstrated experience in developing consultative relationships with executive leaders, including the ability to influence decision makers.
