The engineer will mentor junior staff, support global workshare delivery, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with applicable pipeline codes, standards, safety, and quality requirements.

As a Pipeline Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient pipeline systems while supporting project execution across all phases of engineering.
Technical Leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert for underground pipeline design, specification, and construction.
- Execute and support pipeline engineering deliverables including:
- Pipeline wall thickness calculations.
- Material specifications.
- Alignment sheets.
- Routing analyses.
- Crossing designs.
- Riser and pigging facility designs.
- Material requisitions.
- Specialty item specifications.
- Develop, manage, and implement project specifications.
- Execute pipeline design calculations including:
- Wall thickness.
- Buoyancy control.
- Surface crossings.
- Dynamic loading.
- Hydrotest analysis.
- Pullback calculations.
- Identify and coordinate pipeline stress engineering requirements.
- Work closely with the Design Drafting team to ensure efficient delivery of optimized drawings and models.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Oversee, train, and mentor junior pipeline engineers.
- Support effective global workshare execution to meet project and corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with Stress, Mechanical, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Design teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Support responses to RFIs related to pipeline systems.
- Effectively resolve interdisciplinary technical issues and constructability concerns.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all pipeline engineering deliverables.
- Promote compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Demonstrate commitment to Equinox's health and safety program.
- Support the development of project documentation including:
- Design Basis Memorandums (DBMs).
- Execution plans.
- Construction work packages.
Project Execution
- Support the execution of pipeline projects from concept development through detailed engineering and construction support.
- Evaluate constructability and installation considerations using available project information.
- Assist with procurement activities related to line pipe, valves, specialty items, and other pipeline materials.
- Support trenchless crossing designs including HDDs, HDBs, and auger bores.
About You
About You
You are a motivated engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working within multidisciplinary project teams. You bring:
- A Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of pipeline engineering experience.
- Minimum 3 years of recent EPCM experience focused on pipeline engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience executing underground pipeline projects ranging from NPS 3 to NPS 42.
- Experience participating in multidisciplinary engineering teams, including global workshare environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of CSA Z662.
- Experience designing pipeline systems in accordance with:
- CSA Z662.
- ASME B31.4.
- ASME B31.8.
- AS 2885.
- Demonstrated experience performing pipeline design calculations including:
- Wall thickness.
- Crossings.
- Bends.
- Surface loading.
- Branch connections.
- Working knowledge of:
- API 5L.
- CSA Z245.1.
- Pipeline metallurgy and materials selection.
- Welding procedures and qualification requirements.
- NDE methodologies.
- Experience developing:
- Pipeline alignment sheets.
- Material specifications.
- Valve and induction bend data sheets.
- Pigging facility arrangements.
Preferred
- Experience in pipeline engineering or construction projects in the United States or Australia.
- Familiarity with CO₂ pipeline design and materials selection.
- Experience with CAD and Civil 3D modelling.
