As a Platform Engineer, you'll architect and maintain our cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and security systems while ensuring system reliability through SRE practices and driving initiatives to improve developer productivity across our engineering organization. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions for AWS infrastructure, establish SLOs and observability standards, create automated workflows that empower developers to ship code faster, and build resilient systems that balance innovation with operational stability.

This is a full-time position based in our Denver, CO office. (We have a hybrid work model in place that allows employees to split their time between working in-office and from home a few days a week.)

Compensation: We are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including skills, qualifications and professional experience, which can cause your compensation to vary. This role has an annual targeted base salary range of $145,000 - $180,000, plus an annual 10% performance bonus target.

The impact you’ll make by joining us: 

Impact Within First 3 Months:

  • Integrate with our hybrid workforce and develop deep understanding of our existing infrastructure, deployment workflows, and developer pain points
  • Design and begin implementing new internal tools to streamline developer workflows, focusing on areas like:
    • Local development environment automation
    • Deploy preview environments
    • Internal CLI tools for common developer tasks
    • Service dependency visualization and management
    • Web based deployment tooling
  • Collaborate with existing DevOps team to understand current tooling gaps and opportunities for automation
  • Contribute to existing infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines while identifying areas for programmatic improvements
  • Participate in on-call rotation to develop systems knowledge

Impact Within 6-12 Months:

  • Lead development of internal developer portals and self-service platforms
  • Create and maintain service templates and bootstrapping tools
  • Build automated testing and validation tools for infrastructure changes
  • Develop internal APIs and services to bridge gaps between development and operations
  • Design and implement metrics collection systems for developer productivity and system health
  • Architect solutions for cross-cutting platform concerns like logging, monitoring, and authentication

Who You’ll Collaborate With:

  • Report to Engineering Manager
  • Close collaboration with DevOps and Security teams
  • Regular interaction with product engineering teams to understand needs

What You Bring: 

  • Strong software engineering background with 5+ years of experience building production applications
  • Expertise in Go, Python, Ruby, or similar languages used for backend/systems development
  • Experience building internal developer tools, CLI applications, Web applications, developer platforms
  • Working knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK)
  • Understanding of containerization, Kubernetes, and modern deployment patterns
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and automation
  • Solid foundation in API design and service architecture

Bonus Points: 

  • Experience with observability systems (Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry)
  • Background in site reliability engineering or DevOps
  • Contributions to open-source developer tools
  • Experience with service mesh technologies
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements

Complementary Skills / Competencies: 

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure security and / or AppSec
    • Vulnerability management & compliance assurance
    • Secure access control management
    • Threat modeling
  • Experience building out processes, programs & frameworks used by an engineering community
  • Experience working in a SaaS web product and / or tech startup environment
  • Experience in established SRE / DevSecOps environments
  • Experience in FinTech or Real Estate Tech
  • Real Estate Industry Knowledge
