Who we are
At Fortis Games we aspire to make great games that bring people together while redefining how game companies work. We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.
We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we'll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

About the Role

The Community Development Team is seeking a Player Community Lead with deep live game and live ops experience to work on our mobile title, Twilight Towers. In this role, you will be embedded directly within the game team, ensuring community perspective is integrated into development and live operations in proven, scalable, and innovative ways. You will build strong cross-functional relationships, surface meaningful insights, and ensure our players feel represented, connected, and understood.

You will lead feedback loops, drive real-time sentiment analysis, and actively contribute to live-ops planning and execution, shaping how community is woven directly into the live game experience. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with professionalism, and a passion for building communities where belonging is intentional and measurable.

  • In order to represent the player you need to be a player. A deep commitment to understanding the live player experience in order to provide perspective, advocate for feedback and adequately communicate player facing information.
  • Serve as a core member of the game team, embedding community perspective across development, social design integration, live-ops planning, and live execution.
  • Collaborate with game teams to extend narrative, tone, and world-building into community and live-ops experiences, including acting within established voice, ideating in-world events, and designing socially driven features that feel native to the game universe.
  • Actively contribute to live-ops strategy, ensuring community insight informs events, updates, cadence, and player engagement systems.
  • Build and maintain real-time sentiment analysis, reporting, feedback loops combining qualitative and quantitative insights, and establish success metrics.
  • Identify and implement in-game and out-of-game community integration opportunities that meaningfully strengthen player connection.
Partner with the Communications team to align messaging, cadence, and community-first campaigns around game initiatives.
  • Partner with CDT teams including Player Support, Comms, and Ops within a pod structure to deliver a unified view of player issues, sentiment, and opportunities for proactive improvement.
  • Develop and test new, innovative models for connecting players and developers beyond traditional community management.
  • Engage directly with players, creators, and community leaders to ensure their voices inform product and live-ops direction.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to align teams during moments of ambiguity, competing priorities, or rapid change.
  • Identify operational gaps, player friction points, and cross-functional misalignments, and drive structured solutions that improve workflows, communication, and live-ops execution.
  • Contribute to the growth, mentorship, and evolution of the Player Community function across the portfolio.
  • Share learnings across the organization and elevate community’s strategic role within Fortis.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders of the game team and key partner teams to drive product KPIs and facilitate community initiatives.
What You’ll Achieve
  • Deliver actionable sentiment reporting that directly shapes live-ops decisions and roadmap priorities.
  • Lead community focused pod within the game team ensuring player support and advocation.
  • Launch and evolve engagement initiatives that measurably increase retention, participation, and player trust.
  • Strengthen internal alignment by translating community needs into clear direction for product, live-ops, and creative teams.
  • Build durable, trust-based relationships with players across all channels.
Advance Fortis’ ability to integrate community directly into live service systems, not just external engagement.
  • Apply industry trends and emerging community practices to keep our live games culturally relevant.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
  • Proven experience operating in live service, soft launch, and early live-ops environments, preferably in mobile or free-to-play games.
  • Experience in tower defense and tower merge games.
  • Flexibility in timezones with gloabally remote team.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate community insight directly into live-ops strategy, events, and feature development.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate differing perspectives while keeping teams aligned.
  • A solutions-driven, collaborative mindset with comfort resolving tension and ambiguity constructively.
  • Deep understanding of gaming communities, player sentiment, and social platforms including Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, and more.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and adaptability in fast-moving live environments.
  • Experience founding or running community focused programs like guilds, content creators, ambassadors, and VIPs.

A genuine passion for games, players, and fostering belonging through interactive systems.
