Job Description:

The Auto Body Prepper/Apprentice must prepare the vehicle to ensure a quality refinish of each customer’s vehicle. The Auto Body Prepper sands, masks, primes, and prepares each vehicle for refinishing as per insurance guidelines. The Prepper works with all team members in achieving the repair facilities' KPIs.

Key Job Responsibilities 

  • Prepare surface for paint by masking the vehicle, priming, and adding top coat
  • Apply all primers, sealers, basecoats, colour coats, and clear coats
  • Prep surface for paint using hand and power tools 
  • Identify any dirt or imperfection on surface of vehicle 
  • Evaluate bodywork to ensure a quality paint job
  • Ensure consistent execution of tasks by adhering to high standards of quality and productivity. This commitment directly impacts the shop's efficiency and helps maintain a positive NPS (Net Promoter Score) by delivering high-quality, detailed work.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of Prepper experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage a fast paced environment 

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Completion of Post-Secondary Education in an Auto Body Refinishing Program

Other Requirements Travel, physical requirements, etc.

  • Frequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • You have your own tools
  • Valid driver’s license required

Compensation Details

Hourly:

$19 - $21 per hour

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
